Grades 5 & 6: 56'ers Camp
Our 56'ers Camp provides our 5th and 6th graders the opportunity to develop life and leadership skills through traditional camp program activities. 56'ers Camp challenges campers to develop the initiative and strength to make good choices based on the YMCA’s character development values. All activities will foster individual confidence and self-esteem as they work together and support each other. The following schedule is only for Backyard Kids participants. (Specialty campers are not able to participate). The 56'ers travel twice a week. Campers may bring their bagged lunch or purchase lunch weekly at the camp site for an extra fee.
The campers will travel off-site to various local and state parks. Their days will include: trips to local parks, team building games once a week will be an excursion to places like to Camel Beach, Liberty Science Center, bowling etc.
8-9 am: Drop-off - Games, tournaments!
Travel to local and state parks
4:00 pm: Return to the Y
4-6 pm: Pick Up - Games, tournaments
Y-Days: the campers will remain at the YMCA
The campers will have access to the following when at the Y Zone:
8-9 am: Drop-off
9-4 pm: 45 minute increments of the following:
Arts & crafts, indoor gym, outside games, sports field, theme weeks, special guests & activities, gaga pit, camp games, volleyball, Bocce tournaments, game room and more!
4-6 pm: Free play/Pick-up time
