Assistant Swim Team Coach: YMCA

Hours & Salary:

Qualifications and Skills
- Previous Coaching/Instructing experience required
- American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED certification or equivalent.
- American Red Cross Safety Training for Swim Coaches
- USA Swimming certifications and YMCA Principles of Competitive Swimming and Diving a plus.
- Experience with swim meet and team management software such as Team Manager, Meet Manager, and Team Unify a plus.

Lifeguard: YMCA

Drop-In Babysitting Staff: YMCA

Job Description:
The Greater Morristown YMCA offers quality drop-in childcare at no cost to our members during certain business hours. Our child care is perfect for parents who are working out or must be with another child for a parent/child class. This position is responsible for the safety and supervision of children (8 weeks to 11 years) while their parents are participating in on-site recreation activities or classes at The Greater Morristown YMCA.
We are looking for Babysitters to work 3-6 hours weekly with each shift being 3 hours.
Morning shifts during regular facility hours are: Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Evening shifts during regular facility hours are: Monday and Wednesday from 4:30pm to 7:30pm, with the potential to expand into more evenings.
Regular part time employees, who maintain at least two shifts weekly have the benefit of a membership at the Greater Morristown YMCA.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with and welcome every child.
- Engage with parents in a positive and respectful manner.
- Ensure that all children are dismissed to designated parent/guardian.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of all toys.
Qualifications:
- Morning shifts are a perfect part-time position for a working mom or active retiree! Evening positions are a great way for high school students (16+) to gain experience on school evenings!

YBA Volunteer Coaches for 2024/2025 Season

Y Kids After School Counselor

Under the supervision of the site supervisor, the Y Kids Counselor is responsible for providing direct leadership to groups of children in various formats and activities. This includes organizing and motivating the children during their time at the Before or After care program and maintaining a safe environment. In this role you will work with children through the ages of 6 and 12 years old (depending on school). You will supervise and assist/lead physical activities. Must adhere to the Office of Licensing rules and the Y’s four core values at all times (caring, honesty, respect and responsibility).
Hours are Monday-Friday 2:30pm to 6:00pm (School Half-Days 12:00pm to 6:00pm) during the Morris Plains school calendar year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must have the ability to provide physical support/assistance to children in all activities. (must have the ability to support 30 lbs. during activities.)
